The Holy Father, John Paul II, appointed as bishop of Trujillo, Department of Colon and Gracias a Dios, Honduras, Fr. Luis Solé Fa, C.M., Pastor and Vicar form the Vicariate of Mosquitía (diocese of Trujillo).
Fr. Luis Solé Fa, C.M., is a member of the Province of Barcelona. He was born July 23, 1946 in Tarragona (Spain). He is the son of Mr. Juan Solé and Mrs. Mercedes Fa. He is the sixth of seven children. He was admitted to the Congregation of the Mission on April 4, 1968. He took vows on May 31, 1972. He was ordained a priest on December 29, 1973.
Between 1974 and 1978 he was parochial vicar in two parishes of Barcelona (Sant Martí del Clot and San Vicente de Paúl and San Severo). From 1978 to 1980 he was chaplain in the Center of Rehabilitation for Youth in Alicante, and Vocation Director and member of the Provincial council.
He arrived for the first time in Honduras (Mission of Barcelona), for a pastoral experience from October, 1976 to October, 1977, in Saint Vincent de Paul parish, Puerto Cortés and the Mosquitia.
He returned to Honduras in 1979 to direct to the mission of the Parish of Saint Peter Apostle, San Pedro Sula.
Later, in 1981, he was assigned to Honduras as parochial vicar of the parish in Puerto Cortés. In January, 1983 he was assigned as Pastor of Saint Joseph Medina in San Pedro Sula. In 1985 he started the Marian Vincentian Youth Movement.
In 1991 he was appointed by Archbishop Óscar Ándes Rodríguez Vicar for Pastoral for the Diocese of San Pedro Sula.

From 1991 to 1994 he was Director of the “Center for Capacitation”, in San Pedro Sula 1994. In 1992 he directed a Mission in Saint Joseph Medina parish.

In 1995 he was appointed Superior of the Regional House and Pastor of San Vicente de Paúl, San Pedro Sula.

In 2000, he was sent to he Mosquitia as Pastor of the Holy Cross Church, in Barra Patuca, diocese of Trujillo. In the 2002 he was appointed by Bishop Virgilio López as Episcopal Vicar of the Vicariae of the Mosquitia.

The Holy See made known on March 18, 2005, his appointment as Bishop.

The Congregation of the Mission has two missionary parishes in the Department Gracias a Dios (Holy Cross, in Barra Patuca and Saint Joseph, in Puerto Lempira), with collaboration of four Provinces: Central America, Barcelona, Colombia and Zaragoza.
The diocese has a population of 280,000 of whom 230,000 are baptized. There are 17 priests and 23 religious women working in the Diocese.
Fr. Solé is gifted as a Formator and retreat Director. Among his hobbies are music and playing guitar. He has a tremendous capacity for synthesis and Pastoral planning.
