New General Procurator and General Archivist

Father G. Gregory Gay, the Superior General and his Council, named Father Varghese Thottamkara. C.M., as the new Procurator General and General Archivist during a session of the Ordinary General Council on April 15. Father Varghese belongs to the Province of South India.
He was born on the 2nd of June 1959 in Cheranalloor (India). Son of Mr. Souru and Mrs. Mariam, he was admitted to the Congregation on the 10th of May 1982 and was ordained priest on the 6th of January of 1987.
He stayed for four years in Orissa, ten years as Formator in Ethiopia and two years as rector in India. His principal responsibilities in the Congregation were: eight years as Rector in the Seminary, twelve as professor in the Seminary, six years as a member of the Council and currently as Assistant Provincial.
He studied Bachelor of Philosophy (Aquinas College, India); Bachelor in Pastoral Theology (St. Joseph’s Seminary) and STL Degree in Moral Theology (Rome 1995-1997).
Father Varghese will replace to Fr. Rolando DelaGoza, C.M. (Philippines), who has been working as General Procurator and General Archivist since 1997. Thank you Fr. DelaGoza for your extraordinary service to the Congregation!
