dsc00705b.jpgThe SIEV, the International Secretary for the Vincentian Studies, has held the second of the sessions programmed for the year 2007, in Dublin, the All Hallows College, the cradle of so many missionary vocations for the English speaking world. In this beautiful place, we have enjoyed the excellent attention of the Direction and Personnel of the College and the brotherly welcome that in the name of the Province of Ireland Fr. Eugene Curran, member of SIEV has given us. Thanks.

Working two days and a half, we have reviewed the march of the SIEV, insisting on the necessity of a greater co-ordination and intercommunication at an international level of what is happening in the different provinces, in the field of the Vincentian studies. From this starting point SIEV could fulfil indeed his objectives to animate, to inform and to promote all that is referring to Vincentian studies. A concrete proposal was elaborated and will be presented to the Superior General and his council.

The elaboration and concretion of the program for the colloquy for new researchers that will be held in Paris, in the first two weeks of February 2008 occupied a great part of our time. We continued in reflecting and taking steps in the planning of a practical Guide for the Introduction into Vincentian Studies, that could be used in the formation of our seminarists of the Internal Seminary. The third block of our reflection turned around the program of international sessions about pastoral activities that the SIEV had elaborated for five years. We came to the conclusion that it is important to have a connection between Vincentian reflection and studies and the missionary activity in the different areas where the C.M. is working. The difficulties to keep the proposed dates and the answer of the Superior General and his council have made us to reconstruct our first project and to propose it again.

Some other points of discussion were about Vicenciana as a means of information and about cmglobal. as an immediate means of information of the activity of the provinces.

Considering the colloquy of Paris, the Siev programs only one meeting for 2008 that will be celebrated the 2-3 of September, in the place that will be confirmed opportunely.
