Yesterday, the 12th of October, the parísh of St. Augustine, Uruguay, celebrated the 160th anniversary of its existence. The construction began in 1847, and 2 years later, the 12th of October, 1849, the parish of St. Augustine was consecrated, on Restoration Street. In February, 1892, Bishop Mariano Soler committed the parish to the care of the Vincentian missionaries. Historical background in Spanish
