During Lent, Your Steps are Important! Let us Walk with Saint Vincent!

#VincentianLent

Do you want to pray with all the missionaries ministering in the ninety-five countries where the Congregation of the Mission is present? Do you want to share your prayer with confreres throughout the world? Would you like to live the Vincentian charism with other members of the Congregation of the Mission?

In response to the invitation of the Superior General, we have decided to share our faith in the digital world … and we have decided to do this is seven stages that have been suggested by Father Tomaž in his Lenten letter.

What are we proposing? We propose something that is quite simple!

Beginning on March 6th we will publish a daily video on the Facebook page of the Congregation of the Mission. The protagonists of this effort are the Vincentian seminarists. What will be the content of these videos?

Some passage from the writing of Saint Vincent will be read followed by a spontaneous commentary/prayer. All the videos will be marked with the hashtag #VincentianLent

Through means of this effort we want:

  • To emphasize the multicultural and missionary diversity that is found in the Congregation;
  • To increase our knowledge about the writing/thought of St. Vincent;
  • To unite us together in prayer;
  • To promote the missionary spirit and the culture of vocation.

We have focused the videos on the seven pillars of Vincentian spirituality:

  • First week: the spirit of penance
  • Second week: prayer
  • Third week: charity
  • Fourth week: seeking the Kingdom of God
  • Fifth week: acting in accord with the will of God
  • Sixth week: love of God
  • Seventh week: seeking evangelical perfection

We request that you connect with our Facebook page and pray with us. Participate in this faith sharing experience. Spread the charism by sharing the videos. Strengthen the sense of community by publishing your reflections on Lent using the hashtag #VincentianLent.

Walk with us … each step is important!
