Provincial House: Our superior General Fr. Tomaz was with us from 11 night until 12th noon. Fr. Thomas Mavric together with Assistant General Fr. Mathew Kallanmakil and Fr. Tomichan the visitor of the South Indian Province arrived at the international airport Bangalore, on 11th November at 11.30 pm. Sr. Rose Chirayil the Visitatrix, Sr.Anne, Provincial Econome and Sr. Velanganni the Councillor received them in the airport and on arrival to the Provincial house he was welcomed, garlanded and greeted by our sisters and aspirants. Following day on 12th morning we had a very meaning full Prayer at 6.30 am. Beginning of the prayer symbolically a lamp was lit by Father General as giving warmth and energy to all of us. Following the breakfast, he visited the Louisa foster home of the Migrants and slum children in the Provincial house. He was very happy to meet these poor children who are very active and vibrant. At his request they did yoga and action songs for him.

Seminary: At 8.am we travelled to Seminary, Hallehalli where we had organized meeting with all the members of the Vincentian family and the DC sisters.  After the welcome with tribal dance by the seminary sisters, he was taken to the Conference hall for his session with DC sisters. In his talk he highlighted about the community life and he said, community life is modeled after Blessed Trinity. We also had interaction with him by raising few questions after the first session with sisters he also met all the seminary sisters and the senior sisters in the community.

Vincentian Family: He also had the joy of meeting the members of the different branches of Vincentian family and they were around 100 members. He said millions of likeminded people are working and following the spirit of St. Vincent. Let us together bring goodness and serve Him in the poor and the needy more and more. He also spoke about the 13 houses project and home for the homeless alliance. Following the talk he blessed the land and foundation stone for the Vincentian Family Secretariat cum spirituality center. Also, he released the first issue of the Vincentian journal on Vincentian spirituality named “VIN SMRITI”. Then we had the Holy Eucharistic Celebration officiated by Fr.Tomaz.

It was indeed a time of grace and blessings for all of us and we could experience his fatherly love and concern, as Vincent was to the first daughters. And all that he had to say to us is “to live a better community life, witness Christ through our service to the poor and the needy and being joyful sisters always”. His visit was really good, graceful and blissful moments to our Province and to all of us.

United in prayers,
Secretariat, South India.
