God, our merciful Father, you sent your Son as savior of the world and evangelizer of the poor. You have chosen us to announce the Good News to the poor, our lords and masters. We give you thanks for having called us to this missionary vocation.

At the dawn of the fifth century of our little company and in this time of our 43rd General Assembly, we ask you to send us the light of the Holy Spirit, strengthen our weaknesses and make us docile to your inspiration. May we experience once again the inner fire and missionary zeal of St. Vincent and our early confreres. Deepen our relationship with you through a life of prayer and by listening to the cries of the poor and to the needs of the Church. Give us the grace to be faithful to the evangelical counsels and to the five virtues that characterize the spirit of our company. May the example of the Holy Trinity inspire us to gather and work together as communities of “dear friends”. In this privileged moment of our assembly renew the spirit of joy, conversion, dialogue and unity among us. May we be prophetic witnesses of your Gospel to the world especially to the more abandoned poor and to the peripheries. Renew the spirit of collaboration among the members of the Vincentian Family.

Mary, our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and our mother, intercede for us, and grant us your love and protection. Inspire us to imitate you as followers of your son Jesus. All Vincentian saints and blessed, pray for us to live our missionary vocation with fidelity and joy, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
