Rome, 7 July 2020

To all the Visitors, Regional Superiors, Superiors of International Missions and CM Bishops

Dear confreres,

May the grace and peace of Jesus be always with us! I hope and pray that all of you are well.

I write this few lines to invite and encourage each confrere of the Congregation to participate in the “Vincentian Family Prayer for a World in Need” this coming Sunday, 12 July, at 3:00 pm (EDT: New York time), 9:00 pm (CEST: Madrid-Rome time). I would like to ask all the Visitors, Regional Superiors, and Superiors of the International Missions to invite and encourage the confreres of your respective provinces, vice-provinces, regions, and international missions to join this prayer encounter.

It would be well to ask the local superiors to organize a community live-streaming participation. In this way, we will join in the prayer as community. In addition, the confreres who do not have Facebook will be able to participate in the live transmission. Of course, each country will determine the time of the live transmission, according to the above information.

Although the Vincentian Family Office (VFO) sent the information and invitation to all the international leaders of the Vincentian Family, I would like to ask you to pass it along too. Through the respective National Councils of the Vincentian Family in a given country, please encourage the participation of all the members of the branches of the Vincentian Family present in the territory of your provinces, vice-provinces, regions, and international missions.

The invitation also goes to the Vincentian Family in the larger sense of the word: members of our parishes, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, social centers, etc., and all those who would like to join us from anywhere in the world. Please pass the invitation to them too.

As always, this invitation goes to our dear confrere-bishops also, asking them to join the worldwide Vincentian Family in prayer this coming 12 July by inviting other persons, groups, parishes, and institutions in their respective dioceses to join in prayer wherever possible for the world in need.

The VFO has prepared the posters in seven languages. If you could translate the poster in your local language and send it with your invitation that would be a further encouragement.

May this prayer encounter of the worldwide Vincentian Family be a further opportunity to deepen our closeness, collaboration, and effectivenessin our common mission in the world.

Until we meet this coming Sunday, 12 July,

Your brother in Saint Vincent,
Tomaž Mavrič, CM
Superior General.
