Apply for Funding

General Information 

Provinces, vice-provinces, and missions apply for VSO service by submitting a completed VSO Project Application Form to the VSO (found below). Provinces, vice-provinces, and missions apply for a VSF micro-project grant by submitting a completed VSF Micro-Project Grant Application Form (found below) to the VSO. VSO Project Application Forms and VSF Micro-Project Grant Application Forms may be submitted in English, French, or Spanish. The VSO will acknowledge its receipt of all VSO Project Application Forms and VSF Micro-Project Grant Application Forms.

Projects 

A Project grant is awarded to a large project of a province, vice-province, or mission that will typically require the VSO to apply to outside agencies and solicit funding from Provinces and individual donors. 

Eligibility: 

The visitor, vice-visitor, or mission superior of an international mission of the General Curia approves and sends the VSO Project Application Form to the VSO Administrator. 

  1. The VSO Project Application Form is properly filled out. 
  2. The province, vice-province, or mission submitting the project is eligible for VSO service, as determined by the Superior General and the General Council.
  3. The project is a work of the Congregation of the Mission and benefits the needs of the confreres of the province, vice-province, or mission, or the people they serve. 
  4. There is a reasonable chance of securing grant funds for the project. 
  5. The VSO has the resources to work on the project.

 

Micro-Projects 

A micro-project grant is a grant of up to $5,000 (USD) that is awarded to a small project of a province, vice-province, or mission.

 

Eligibility for Projects

  • The visitor, vice-visitor, or mission superior of an international mission of the General Curia approves and sends the VSO Project Application Form to the VSO Administrator. 
  • The VSO Project Application Form is properly filled out. 
  • The province, vice-province, or mission submitting the project is eligible for VSO service, as determined by the Superior General and the General Council. 
  • The project is a work of the Congregation of the Mission and benefits the needs of the confreres of the province, vice-province, or mission, or the people they serve. 
  • There is a reasonable chance of securing grant funds for the project. 
  • The VSO has the resources to work on the project

  • The visitor, vice-visitor, or mission superior of an international mission of the General Curia approves and sends the VSF Micro-Project Grant Application Form to the VSO Administrator. 
  • The VSF Micro-Project Grant Application Form is properly filled out. 
  • The province, vice-province, or mission submitting the VSF Micro-Project Grant Application Form is eligible for VSO service, as determined by the Superior General or the General Council. Click here to determine if you qualify. 
  • The micro-project is a work of the Congregation of the Mission and benefits the needs of the confreres of the province, vice-province, or mission, or the people they serve. 
  • The micro-project grant is for $5,000 USD or less. 
  • The VSF has the financial resources to award the micro-project grant. 
  • A province, vice-province, or mission can only receive one (1) VSF micro-project grant per funding year

 

How to apply

VSO Project Application Forms and VSF Micro-Project Grant Application Forms can be submitted to the VSO at any time. There are no deadlines to apply for funding. Please only submit your grant application once you have all portions of the application complete including: 

  • Official Approval 
  • Local Contribution
  • Bill of Quantities
  • Proformas 

The VSO will acknowledge its receipt of all VSO Project Application Forms and VSF Micro-Project Grant Application Forms.

VSO Project Reporting

By applying to the VSO, you are agreeing to complete all necessary reporting to both the VSO and external agencies, this includes: 

  • A written narrative evaluating the implementation of the project, using the form “Narrative Report Form” (click the buttons below to access the reporting document)
  • A financial report using the report forms entitled “Financial Report Forms” (click the buttons below to access the reporting document)
  • Copies of all receipts or paid vouchers for the cash expenses of the project 
  • Pictures of the project (digital pictures or hard copy photographs) 
  • Any other information needed to fulfill the reporting requirements for a grant awarded by a funding organization for the project (if requested)
