Fr. Emmanuel Typam C.M., secretary general of the Confederation of the Conferences of Superiors Major of Africa and Madagascar is among those Benedict XVI appointed to participate in the forthcoming Special Assembly for Africa of the Synod of Bishops, due to be held Oct. 4-25 in the Vatican on the theme: “The Church in Africa, at the Service of Reconciliation, Justice and Peace. ‘You Are the Salt of the Earth … You Are the Light of the World…Fr. Emmanuel, born on Oct. 20, 1962, was incorporated into the Community on Sept. 14, 1991, and ordained a priest on May 20, 1993.
