General Objective
-That the communities can revive their faith in the Church by profoundly knowing Jesus Christ, that they may celebrate with dignity in Jesus Christ, and serve Jesus with humility in our neighbor and in our most needy brothers and sisters.
Woe is me if I don’t evangelize!
(1 Cor. 9, 16)
Justification
Through the mission “we try to confirm, renew y revitalize the newness of the Gospel rooted in our history, from a personal and community encounter with Jesus Christ, which may create disciples and missionaries.”
First Part of the Mission
(Pre-Mission- 15 days?)
Particular Objective: to create a good environment that may be open and organized to receive the Good News.
Elements that you must take into account:
o Petition-agreement with the Bishop or pastor and create a calendar to carry out.
o Define the number and place of the sectors and communities of faith, hope and charity that will be created.
o Recuperate leaders and the formation of communities
o Organize the family homes were the missionaries will live, rest, eat and have their meetings.
o Create propaganda for the mission: letters, flyers, posters, wall paintings, visits…etc.)
o Pray for the success of the mission (be creative).
o Evaluation.
Second Part of the Mission
(Mission – 15 days)
Particular Objective: share the good news to revive the faith of the community in Christ Jesus.
General activities:
Visits to the families
o Missionary rosary (at daybreak?)
o Children’s catechesis
o Youth catechesis
o Adult catechesis
o Eucharistic celebration
o Confessions
o Blessings of homes, etc.
Extraordinary activities:
o Commencement and Closing celebration
o Celebration for the infirm
o Pray vigils by sectors
o Stations of the Cross (The Way of the Lord)
o Marian Celebrations
o Family March
o Youth Vigil
o Rest: missionary gathering.
o Children’s march
o Evaluation
Third Part of the Mission
(Post Mission – 8 days)
Particular Objective: reach the agreements and commitments that may lead to the continuity of the experience lived in the mission. The activities to be realized are carried out in conformity of the directives of the Dioceses or Parish.
The Mission Center offers:
– Formation of new leaders from the community.
– Formation and consolidating the new Vincentian family groups (in a special those way those dealing with social services) (Vincentian Volunteers, Special Vincentian Catechesis, Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Vincentian Marian Youth, Miraculous Medal).
o Evaluation.
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Mt. 28, 19)
“For a missionary, a true missionary, a person of God, they must see all as good and indifferently; they embrace all, they can do it all.” (SVP)
