In my role as General Director of the MISEVI International group I am writing you today and convoking the General Assembly which will take place inj Bogotá (Colombia), February 5-7, 2010 (arrival February 4th, departure February 8th).

In my role as General Director of the MISEVI International group I am writing you today and convoking the General Assembly which will take place in Bogotá (Colombia), February 5-7, 2010 (arrival February 4th, departure February 8th).
All the MISEVI groups whose Statutes have been approved are invited to participate in this Assembly. The number of delegates that each country may send will be announced later. The same is said of other lay missionary groups of the Vincentian Family that are established throughout the world — they will receive an invitation from the General Director and we hope that at least two members from each group will be able to be present during the Assembly.
We wish to expand MISEVI especially in those places where collaboration is most important, particularly collaboration with the Missionaries of the Congregation of the Mission, the Daughters of Charity and other religious communities that share the charism of Saint Vincent de Paul. Therefore I call upon all the Visitors of the Daughters of Charity and the Visitors of the Congregation of the Mission who are aware of lay missionaries — I invite you to write to me or some other member of MISEVI (their names are listed below) about them. We know very few of these groups and only recently have we discovered some of these groups through magazines and bulletins which we have received from different branches of the Vincentian Family.
If you are aware of lay missionary groups that collaborate with a branch of the Vincent Family we would be grateful if you would put them in contact with MISEVI International at one of the following addresses:

As Director General I would like to consolidate the presence of our lay missionaries throughout the world. Their potential is enormous. I hope that we can become more united because we recognize that our unity will enable us to better serve the poor.
I take advantage of this opportunity to wish all of you a Christmas that will be the occasion for conversion and growth in the love of our Lord. I hope that like the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit will fill your lives with a new vitality that will make each of you better able to follow Jesus Christ, the evangelizer of the poor.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas,
¡Qué la gracia de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo habite en sus corazones ahora y siempre!
En mi calidad de Director General de MISEVI internacional, les escribo hoy para convocar la Asamblea General que tendrá lugar en Bogotá (Colombia), del 5 al 7 de febrero de 2010, (llegada el 4 y partida el 8).
Están invitados a participar todos los MISEVIS que tengan los Estatutos aprobados. El número de participantes por país será anunciado más tarde. Invitamos igualmente a otros grupos misioneros laicos de la familia vicentina establecidos en el mundo entero; ellos recibirán una carta de invitación del Director General. Esperamos que al menos dos miembros de cada grupo puedan estar presentes.
Deseamos expandir MISEVI, en los lugares donde la colaboración es muy importante, particularmente la colaboración con los Misioneros de la Congregación de la Misión, las Hijas de la Caridad u otras comunidades religiosas ligadas al carisma de San Vicente de Paul. Yo lanzo un llamado a todas las visitadoras de las Hijas de la Caridad y a todos los visitadores de la Congregación de la Misión que conozcan misioneros laicos; les invito a escribirnos, a mí o a algún miembro de MISEVI citados más abajo. Conocemos muy pocos a esos grupos. Hemos descubierto a algunos recientemente a través de revistas y boletines de las diferentes ramas de la Familia Vicentina.
Si ustedes conocen un grupo de misioneros laicos que colaboran con una rama de la Familia Vicentina, les agradecería de ponerlos en contacto con MISEVI Internacional a una de estas direcciones:
