Two seminarians, Patrik Boržecký and Martin Rypák received their clerical attire as they promised to serve the poor during a Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Jaroslav Jaššo, C.M., Visitor of Slovakia.
The investiture took place Sunday, October 16 at a special celebration at St. Vincent church in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Patrik Boržecký and Martin Rypák received their clergy attire (“obliečka” in Slovak). They successfully completed the Internal Seminary (novitiate) in Krakow, Poland. Accepting cassocks from the hands of their Provincial Superior they were clothed with “new Adam”. Cassocks are the sign of belonging to Christ, the Supreme Shepherd.
They also pronounced “Good Purposes” (Bonum Propositum) which is a promise to serve the poor following the example of St. Vincent de Paul and practice poverty, chastity, and obedience according to the Constitutions and Statutes of the Congregation of the Mission. This promise is made right after the Internal Seminary and prior to another stage of formation.
Let us keep them in our prayers that as they continue their formation journey they will approach the image of Merciful Father and be clothed with the spirit of Jesus Christ acting for the benefit of the Poorest.
Praised be Jesus Christ.
