Little known facts…
Holy Cross church and parish is the first Vincentian foundation in Poland. It was made during the lifetime of Vincent (1653).
Chopin (b. 1810) and his family were Holy Cross parishioners during the time they lived in Warsaw. In 1827 they moved to Krasinski Palace which is next to Holy Cross church. Frederic’s father, a French expatriate, become French teacher in the secondary school called Warsaw Lyceum.
The heart of Chopin is preserved in Holy Cross Church. This is an historic parish for the Vincentians as they first began to minister there during the lifetime of Vincent de Paul !
