The Daughters of Charity, members of the Province of Krakow and ministering in Odessa (Ukraine), share with us these photos of the peregrination of the relics of St. Vincent de Paul. This pilgrimage began in Snatyn, on May 30th, the feast of Blessed Marta Wiecka, D.C.  Now, the relics of our Founder have reached Odessa, a city in the southern part of Ukraine where members of the Vincentian Family have served for many years.

On August 23, the reliquary of St. Vincent de Paul was enshrined in the DePaul House in Odessa where it was venerated by countless poor men and women. Just as Vincent walked the streets of the towns and villages in France and helped those who were poor and in need, so today, his followers, Vincentian priests and brothers, the Daughters of Charity, DePaul Ukraine workers, MISEVI volunteers and other members of the worldwide Vincentian Family and people of good will … all these followers of Vincent de Paul minister in the same way.

As the Sisters from Odessa stated: For us and for the poor, this event provides people with an extraordinary opportunity to meet our Holy Founder. Everyone draws inspiration and is able to understand the meaning of true love as they reflect on Vincent’s goodness and sincere dedication. Saint Vincent, we are your children – pray for us!
