Words from Father Toma’ Mavrič, CM during the broadcast:

When we try to explain the effects, the fruits that the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus has in our own lives and the lives of our communities, families, Church, and all of humanity, we search for words that can best describe such a movement. We use words like fire and consoler to explain why what we thought could not happen became possible through the gift of Jesus’s Spirit.

In the spirit and faith of the apostles and Mary, gathered in prayer the day they received the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we will gather in simplicity and humility before Jesus, with open hearts and minds to ask Him to give us, through His Spirit, what He knows we most need at this present moment in life, to clothe ourselves more and more with the Spirit of Jesus: His thoughts, His feelings, His words, His deeds.

During this time of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, we need the Holy Spirit more than ever, for, as Saint Vincent tells us, it is the Spirit “who has given the insights, spread throughout the world, that have enlightened saints, confounded the wicked, dissipated doubts, manifested the truth, unmasked errors, and shown the ways by which the Church in general and each of the faithful in particular are able to proceed securely.” Let us beg Jesus to pour His Spirit upon us all.
