From 18 to 20 July, the Daughters of Charity in Chile were visited by their Superior General, Sister Françoise Petit. In this context, the Mother shared with her Sisters, who came from the various communities present in the country, and celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Province of Our Lady of the Mission – South America.

She also participated in the re-inauguration of the House of the Assumption for the elderly Sisters, after its refurbishment, and also in the inauguration of the Effatá work, which was established in the grounds of the Ex-Regazo, in the Macul Commune, in the city of Santiago.

On the afternoon of Tuesday 18, the Superior General – together with the General Councillor for Latin America and the Caribbean, Sister Alicia Margarita Cortés and the Visitatrix Sister María Elisa Ortiz – participated in the Tuesday Mass, with the Perpetual Novena, in the Chapel of the Central House of the Sisters in Chile, in which the anniversary of the first apparition of the Virgin to Saint Catherine was also celebrated. The Mass was presided by Fr Carlos de la Rivera and concelebrated by Fr Sergio Plana, provincial director of the Sisters, and Fr Alvaro Tamblay.

On Wednesday 19, another Eucharist was celebrated with the different associations of the Vincentian Family. This Mass was presided over by Fr. Sergio Plana and concelebrated by seven other missionaries, among them the Visitor, Fr. The Mass was followed by a dinner of honour, hosted by the Daughters of Charity.
