Everyone will remember this year. Unfortunately, the Pandemic is not the only scourge we have had to face. Alongside the loss of many confreres, family, and friends, we have seen many of our families and the people with whom we work now looking for ways to tackle poverty.

The November issue of NUNTIA is very varied and full of news. On the one hand, the blessing that Pope Francis gave to the image of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal that will go on pilgrimage in Italy is an experience of hope. On the other hand, we recorded the “formative” meeting of the Postulator General with the Vice-Postulators and many confreres and members of the Vincentian Family who participated in this virtual meeting.

Unfortunately, this month we witnessed the disaster from hurricanes in Central America, leaving death and desolation in their wake and aggravating the scourge of poverty of many families already affected by the pandemic. Many areas were affected, but our missionaries responded quickly and took immediate action in collaboration with many members of the Vincentian Family. The General Curia responded during a virtual meeting with the Visitors and Regional Superiors in order to give concrete and direct support through the confreres who are present in the affected areas of Panama, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico. The chronicle of that meeting is presented in this issue.

Also as a response to the needs of the poor, we have the actions that the VSO has carried out in the Provinces of the Conference of Visitors of Africa and Madagascar (COVIAM).
